Production Manager

Seeking TOP OF THE LINE Production Manager with heavy work experience for our Screen-Printing shop located at our Batavia, IL headquarters.

Our company has grown 100-200% four years in a row, and we are in need of a new Production Manager to help us to continue servicing some of the largest artists and management companies in the music industry. Willing to cover relocation expenses for out of state candidates.

Job Duties

This position will focus on but not be limited to:
  • Schedule all print production orders via Shopworks system. Shopworks experience would be a major plus!
  • Ensures support teams (receiving dept., screen dept., ink dept.) have advanced prep-work completed prior to production date to eliminate any potential down press time.
  • Prioritizes workflow for each department and responds to daily demands in a timely fashion. Ensures that each machine has enough work scheduled each day to maximize output.
  • Ensures that daily schedules and priorities are clear for each press operator by passing out daily updated production schedules.
  • Assists in production first run approvals. Ensures documentation and embellishments match and embellishments are correct in placement, size and color.
  • Responsible to make sure staff is properly trained to perform assigned tasks.
  • Accountable for daily production schedule completion and operator/support staff performance.
  • Assures that all orders are completed and moved to shipping department in a timely manner for shipping daily.
  • Provide leadership and guidance regarding the art of screen printing as issues arise.
  • Have large presence on production floor daily to ensure high volume output and quality prints while balancing administrative duties.
  • Evaluate performance of staff and enforce policies and procedures as dictated by upper level management.
  • Bring in fresh ideas based on experience that drive new procedures, increased productivity, and reduction in discrepancies and cycle times.
  • Must keep shop up to date on current trends and advances in screen printing technology. This includes but is not limited to new products, equipment and processes.
  • Track inventory and order production supplies as needed.
  • Directly supervise 15 employees and growing daily.
  • Manage general facility needs.
  • Maintain & promote standards of safety in all production areas.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisor or management experience of 10+ employees at a screen-printing shop.
  • Must have previous Screen Print operations experience along with extensive knowledge of embellishment techniques and proper application.
  • Possess ability to energize and inspire others with a positive and hardworking attitude.
  • Heavy work history in screen printing on both manual and automatic presses.
  • Must be proficient in all Screen Print production processes (screen reclamation and prep, screen coating, screen imaging and developing, ink mixing and Pantone matching, engineering sequences, press set up and operation, dryer settings and variables, QC and testing).
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in setting the tone for a focused, positive, and productive/efficient printer staff.
  • Solid problem-solving skills
  • Eye for quality and detail as well as efficiency and workflow.
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills.
  • Consistent punctuality & attendance.
  • Experience with waterbase, discharge, heat press, and simulated process printing is preferred.
  • Understands importance of processes and quality control standards.
  • Displays confidence and moves quickly when working on a computer.
  • Ability to adapt to a swiftly changing production environment.
  • Ability to list up to 40 pounds, ability to stand or walk for 8+ hours per day.
